neptrúekhu, n. Ghost or doppelganger. A fleeting observation of someone believed dead, generally accepted by more rational individuals as being a form of hallucination induced by obsession. Literally meaning 'afterimage,' such apparitions are generally taken to suggest the individual has unfinished business and cannot move on to the afterlife. Following such a sighting, prayers are generally made to Tshayéa, or Poaléa if the departed died gruesomely.

Often inflected as an e-declension feminine noun in Classical Lilitika, but may also take on the gender of the person at hand.
