tu, n. Distant second or close third person pronoun.

usage: Used to indicate an individual or object that is very nearby or listening in on the conversation, but is not the addressee of the sentence, e.g. Egim, khé tô tsilo rau beraisithir neptarlim: "Go, and retrieve he who misunderstood you." In narratives in the third person, tu is often used to demarcate an incidental person interacting with a more persistent one, who is labelled with lu, but this is usually only done when matching genders would make the sentence otherwise confusing. Tu is never the person being directly addressed, so instructions given to two people to interact with each other take on the same form and must be distinguished by other contextual cues. Especially in its Ketalán form, túu, it can also be used as an impersonal pronoun. It is considered less polite than the more common místu, and connotes "some person over there."

attestation: After 830 lilpo this was replaced with túu.
