alez, pm. Not. The sentence is true but the following noun clause is wrong: Sa rau amis, alez lau: "I love you, not her." Unlike the English conjunction "not" this can be used before any noun clause without sounding awkward: Sa setir alez elíel, olíel (I ate not at there, at here) translates to "I didn't eat there, but I did eat here." Note also that this particle is only used with nouns and becomes a prefix with verbs; see alé-.
