alestúra, n. Arm blade; a slashing weapon strapped to the underside of the forearm. Fem. These are the preferred instruments of the goddess Alestéa. The alestúra blade has its design roots anciently in the performance arts of the Ksreskézai; they were designed for humans to wear and wield, but rarely if ever were they actually employed in combat or gladiatorial arenas by the Slokdtabasa. As melee weapons, the lack of reach makes them somewhat impractical. The term may be used for other ornamental slashing weapons. See also the biography of Atvôdslefa Salkza.
