fídu, n. Neck. The neck is often thought of as the most vulnerable part of the body, as a result of Ksreskézaian anatomy and the fact that the dez- root gave rise to terms covering both topics. Fídu is a contraction of fírezurí dezu, a comment on the generally pale skin of the Lilitai. The phrase and its abbreviation became popular through poetry some fifty years before the exodus.
