pregnant.

masadé, v. To be pregnant.

usage: Although most often in the passive voice starting from the Venrafivía period, most forms derived from this retain the active voice. The key distinction is whether the subject feels she has agency over her pregnancy under the circumstances; the verb masadeshé implies helplessness or being carried away by the experience, whereas masadé is more clearly a matter of choice and commitment. A later compromise, masadé ke (in the middle voice), also exists, which is ambivalent to the distinction.
