des, m. As a result; therefore; thus; that; then.

usage: Used generally when the clause does not involve a conditional, but follows inevitably from something that has happened or may happen: Sa sefraz kelí talalte sivliris des loní dzhuse shúkogiris, khé lo latiris = "I ran for a sufficiently long period of time that his strength evaporated, and he stopped." des is also used as a proclitic (des), adverb (desai/desaz/desya etc.), and sentential adverb (deséú), all for different formulations of the outcomes of a conditional. See Lilitika Grammar for more information on these usages. Sometimes translated as "but," "anyway," "yet," or "still" if the preceding clause might be seen as precluding the result, but doesn't: asa Dazoai a Lerossau dazis, des asa Atshai opris híaz: "The clouds cover the heavens, yet the stars rise anyway."
